SiteLedger

SiteLedger Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 22, 2026.

SiteLedger is developed by Josiah Baumeister. It helps you manage job-site hours, travel, expenses and invoices. SiteLedger has no app account or login, advertising, analytics SDK, or developer-operated data server. Private iCloud sync uses your device’s Apple account.

Records and private iCloud sync

The app stores business and client details, addresses and site/base coordinates, work visits, crew labor, travel summaries, expenses, approvals, billing runs, invoices and saved PDFs, and email-attempt history. These records are saved on your device and, in the iCloud edition, synchronized through Apple CloudKit in your private iCloud database. Your iCloud account and available storage affect synchronization. SiteLedger’s developer does not receive access to your private records through an app backend.

Location

With permission, SiteLedger uses location to save a site or base pin you request. Optional Smart Tracking uses location, including background location when Always permission is granted, to detect arrivals/departures and estimate work-trip mileage. You can use manual tracking without Always permission and disable Smart Tracking or change permissions in iPhone Settings.

Raw location processing and the movement-candidate buffer stay on your device. The buffer retains a recent route fix and unclassified movement candidates for up to a 48-hour retention window; expired entries are removed when the app next executes its cleanup logic, rather than by a guaranteed wall-clock deletion while the app is not running. The buffer is excluded from device backup and private iCloud sync. Classified travel summaries, site/base coordinates and work records can remain in your ledger and synchronize with private iCloud until removed; the 48-hour rule does not apply to those saved records. SiteLedger does not sell location data or use it for advertising.

Apple services and sending records

Address searches use Apple Maps services, which receive your search request. System location and iCloud services operate under Apple’s privacy terms. When you choose to email an invoice, the app presents Apple Mail with the selected PDF and message. Mail uses your configured provider after you tap Send; SiteLedger does not run an email delivery service. The app records compose outcomes such as queued, saved, cancelled or failed; a queued message is not proof of recipient delivery. Sharing and document export send data only through the destinations you choose.

Backups, retention and deletion

Backup export creates unencrypted JSON containing business and client information, business locations, email history and saved invoice PDFs. Protect exported files and share them only with intended recipients. Temporary sharing/export files are cleaned up during subsequent execution. Device-local tracking controls, movement buffers and setup/display preferences are separate from private business-record sync.

Saved business records are retained until you remove them. The sync system can retain deletion markers to prevent deleted records from reappearing. Exports, Mail messages, recipient copies, device backups and Apple’s cloud-retention processes are separate; removing a record in SiteLedger does not recall a sent message or erase independently saved files. You can manage SiteLedger’s iCloud data through your Apple account storage settings. Uninstalling alone should not be relied on to remove cloud records or external copies.

Permissions and control

Location and local reminder notifications are optional. You control those permissions in iPhone Settings. No third-party ad tracking or cross-app advertising identifiers are used. The app relies on Apple’s system storage and transport protections; exported JSON backups are not encrypted by SiteLedger.

Support and changes

If you contact support, the developer receives the information you choose to send. Please avoid sending client records or precise location unless needed for your request. Website-hosting and email providers may process ordinary service information under their own terms. This policy will be updated if the app’s practices change.
